Torrey Feimster is the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Advocacy at GEM. In this role, Torrey oversees the firm’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive and equitable workplace. He is responsible for the strategic integration of DEI policies and best practices across the firm, from investment process and manager selection, to talent acquisition and retention. He also manages the firm’s partnerships with DEI-focused organizations, with the goal of increasing diversity in the industry. Prior to joining GEM in 2012, he served as Assistant to the President and Director of Corporate Relations at Johnson C. Smith University and was Publisher at PRIDE Magazine. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater Charlotte Cultural Trust, an organization that provides endowment management and investment expertise to build and grow permanent funds for arts, science, and history organizations in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community. He received a B.A. in Speech, Communication, and Rhetoric from Wake Forest University.
